Hope you enjoy seeing Catherine. She looks great compared to how she has looked over the past few days.
Catherine slept much of the afternoon. She woke up around 5 p.m., when we put a bottle of Pedialyte in her mouth and she willingly started to eat. She finished the whole 2 ounce bottle, had a good burp then relaxed while watching a Baby Einstein movie. She's such a good girl!
So, she'll probably get her NG tube out tonight. That's the tube that runs from her nose to her stomach. Her next bottle will be Similac formula around 8 p.m., hopefully she'll do just as good with the formula as she did with the Pedialyte. The doctor we spoke to tonight said that he's almost positive that she'll leave the PICU tomorrow. By the time she leaves the PICU all of the tubes should be removed.
